On August 16th 2023 we held our first webinar in partnership with State of Trust.
The panellists Deborah Baddoo, Alex Wheatle and Dr Amy Frost discussed the link between Beckford’s Tower in Bath and Tacky’s Rebellion in Jamaica. Renowned journalist and broadcaster Terry Baddoo facilitated the webinar, asking the panellists probing questions about the involvement of William Beckford in the transatlantic slave trade, the purpose behind – and the impact of – the book Cane Warriors by Alex Wheatle, and the upcoming performance of the novel by State of Trust.
