Community engagement
We believe that engaging with museums can have a positive and profound impact on people’s lives. We are committed to finding ways to connect more deeply with as wide a range of people as possible. Working in partnership with local communities and other cultural providers we seek to engage meaningfully through a wide range of creative projects.
We are happy to offer tailored talks and tours to all community groups and in certain cases can assist with transport to the Tower. Please contact the Learning and Engagement Officer, Marie Brewer on 01225 460705, or via email on [email protected] for further information and to enquire about booking.
Families
Bring your family to Beckford’s Tower to explore – inside and outside. You can use our family trail pack to learn more about William Beckford’s life and how he used this Tower.
Climb the 154 steps of the tower’s spiral staircase and admire the view, then see if you can identify some of the landmarks visible from the top.
Remember to go outside and explore in the cemetery – see if you can find William Beckford’s grave, or see what nature you can observe in this peaceful location. You can also use our outdoor family app. The cemetery is always open, even if the Tower is closed. During school holidays check the Tower’s opening times to come and try out the additional family activities on offer – refer to our events page for details of upcoming family activities
