Part of the Bathscape Walking Festival
When William Beckford moved to Bath in 1922 he immediately began making alterations to the house he purchased at Lansdown Crescent and designed a landscape stretching a mile up Lansdown Hill.
This circular walk of Lansdown Crescent and its surroundings will explore the architecture and landscape of the lower section of Beckford’s Gare, and what he did with the profits gained from the transatlantic slave trade.
